Marcus Burr

President

Marcus Burr is a third-generation helicopter company operator. He has been with Mountain West Helicopters his whole life and has seen it grow from its inception in 1995 to the reputable company it is today. In 2016, Marcus graduated from Utah Valley University with a bachelor’s degree in business management and finance. He also holds a private pilot certificate and flies fixed-wing aircraft. Marcus’ father, Bryan Burr, was the founder of Mountain West Helicopters. When Bryan passed away in 2017, the company needed a leader. With his vision for the future, Marcus assumed the role of president and has continued to successfully run the day-to-day operations of the business.

Neal Jenson

Chief Pilot

Neal Jenson has worked with our company since 2013. He is an experienced pilot in all three of the aircraft that are operated by Mountain West Helicopters. As a certified flight instructor (CFI and CFII), Neal oversees all our pilot training. He is also our company’s check airman. Neal’s skill with a longline and his finesse in the cockpit are very impressive and second to none.

Tyler Burrows

Director of Operations

Tyler Burrows began flying helicopters in 2005. After earning his certifications and building experience as a flight instructor, he moved to Alaska, where he honed his skills in the type of flying he is most passionate about. His focus has always been on utility, construction, mountain operations, and external load work. With a particular emphasis on external load operations, the K-MAX has long been the aircraft he aspired to fly. In 2014, he flew the K-MAX for the first time, and it has been his primary aircraft ever since. Tyler joined Mountain West Helicopters in 2021, drawn by a fleet and mission profile that align perfectly with his passion for the helicopter industry. He feels fortunate to be part of the Mountain West team and is committed to helping carry the company’s legacy into the future.

Travis Storro

Director of Maintenance

Travis Storro has been involved in utility helicopter aviation since 2000. Over the years, he has held roles including Field Mechanic, Director of Maintenance, Repair Station Accountable Manager, PMA Accountable Manager, Certification Manager, and Chief Operating Officer, bringing more than 25 years of experience to our team. He joined Mountain West Helicopters in 2023 as Safety Manager and became Director of Maintenance in 2024. Travis works closely with the management team and crews to continually improve the company’s safety management system and maintenance processes, helping to make Mountain West stronger and safer every day.
